So, installing VRAY is pretty straight forward. But if you have adjusted the Environment (system) variables it will reset to default when updating version... Quite annoying. Also installing Yeti requires to setup some custom environment variables. These can be set in the maya.env, but I chose to set them at system level.

Maya and viewports, man... OK, so to fix the clipping plane issues; in your viewport select View|Select Camera (also for your orthographic views) and set your clipping plane way higher like 0.001 near and 1000000 far. BUT you also might need to set your Translate values of the camera to be ABOVE your objects.....

 What is overscan?

We us overscan to render a larger image while making the original image(lens) the same size/look. This is uses mostly for compositors to and in camera shakes and lens distortions. Basically rendering an image that’s bigger then the compositors resolution with out changing the lens of the camera.

Struggling with setting the environment variables as instructed by your installation of for example VRAY, Arnold, Yeti or whichever tool you use. Now, under windows and Linux this is super easy, but in OSX they seem to change it with every release.
